Odessa

William Chad Claxton, age 48, of Odessa, TX, passed away on July 19, 2020 in his home.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, July 27, 2020 at Stonegate Fellowship, 4240 Preston Smith Rd, Odessa, TX 79762 with Chad Bullard of Venture Church, Keller, TX officiating.

Chad was born in Snyder, TX to James William and Zetta Myrle Claxton on September 6, 1971. Growing up in Odessa, TX, Chad fell in love with football. It was this sport he excelled in and developed a lifelong brotherhood with many of his teammates. After graduating from Odessa High School, Chad became a power lifter in which he became Nationally ranked. During this time Chad worked in Eden, TX as a guard at the Eden Detention Center. Chad loved life and enjoyed harassing his family and friends and would do anything to get a laugh. He was a sweet soul and found the good in all people. But he had no problem defending the ones he cared about. Chad loved the ladies and the ladies loved him. It wasn’t until 2007 when a fiery redhead caught his eye. Shortly after that, April joined the Claxton family and blessed Chad with 2 amazing kids, Langxton and Lexyngton. Fatherhood suited Chad well, he was a good father! Chad grew closer to his Heavenly Father through the ministry of Stonegate Fellowship. His family is grateful for all the people who have ministered and blessed them.

Those we love can never be more than a thought away…for as long as there’s a memory they live in our hearts to stay.

Chad’s favorite scripture was “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13

Chad’s mantra in life was “It is what it is!”
