Odessa

On Monday, June 6, 2022, Lynn Homsey, loving husband, and father of two children, passed away at the age of 74.

Lynn was born on November 13, 1947, in Sayre, OK, to Lowrance and Dorothy (Elliot) Homsey. He graduated from Permian High School in 1966 and completed his associate degree at Odessa College. He worked and managed various oilfield companies, he sold insurance, and owned his own businesses in his career of 52 years. He married his high school sweetheart Candy (Moore) Homsey on April 1, 1965, and they raised two son’s Gary and David.

Lynn was devoted to his family and spent most of his down time doing activities that revolved around them. He coached Gary and David in most of their sports endeavors up until they entered junior high, and even then, he continued to coach elementary football through the Odessa Boy’s Club for several years to come. He loved to draw and was very accomplished at it, he also enjoyed fishing when he could get away, but most of all he enjoyed being involved with his family whether coaching, watching the kids play sports, or just going to the movies that was where he was happiest. He loved his wife of 57 years Candy with all his heart, as well as his sons, grandkids, and great grandkids. He had a quick wit and a compassionate spirit, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Lynn was preceded in death by his parents, Lowrance and Dorothy; his brother, Larry; and his sister, Faith; and daughter-in-law, Becky.

He is survived by his wife, Candy; his sons, Gary Homsey and David, and wife Annette; his four grandchildren, Trinity and girlfriend Tiani, Kendal, Connor, and Tristan and wife Brittney; his two great grandchildren, Perseus and Athena, as well many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
