Marjory Jane Jennings, 96, of Denver, CO, formerly of Odessa, TX, died peacefully in her sleep on September 5, 2021, at Bellview Suites at DTC Assisted Living.

Born December 8, 1924, in Ft Wayne, IN, she is predeceased by her parents, William and Lois Cutting of Tulsa, OK, her late husband of 35 years, Willie Jennings and her daughter Rosemary Lynn of Odessa, TX.

Survivors include her daughter M Gayle (John) Kleinschmidt and granddaughter Lacy Kleinschmidt of Denver.

She was a music teacher at John Ireland Elementary for 21 years and an adjunct member of the Odessa College music faculty.   She served as the principal flutist of the Midland-Odessa Symphony & Choral for over 25 years.  She also served as principal flute for the Wichita Falls, San Angelo, and Big Spring Symphonies.  Her undergraduate and master’s degrees in music are from University of North Texas.   Marjory was also a member of the Pan American Round Table and the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Marjory requested to return home to Odessa to be laid to rest.  A graveside service will be held Tuesday, September 21 at 10:00 am at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 6801 E Business 20, Odessa, TX. In lieu of flowers, those interested are instead encouraged to offer a donation in Marjory’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
