Marina Saldaña

January 2, 1963 — April 29, 2021

Odessa

Marina Saldaña, 58, was surrounded by her family when she went home to the Lord. Our loving wife, mom, grandmother, daughter, sister and aunt passed away after a long hard fight against the effects of COVID -19.

Marina was born on January 2, 1963 in Tulia, Tx. She was one of ten siblings born to Jesus Juan de Dios Moya and Susie Moya. She was married to the love of her life Cesar for 38 years and bore two children. Andrew Jason Saldaña and Sara Victoria Jasso and her sweet angel baby in heaven (Olivia).

She was preceded in death by her brother Lupito Moya, Joe Moya, her father Juan de dios Moya and her baby brother Jorge Moya.

She is survived by her mother Susie Moya, her husband Cesar Saldaña, her eldest child Andrew Jason Saldaña and wife Anne Saldaña, her daughter Sara Victoria Jasso and husband Larry Jasso III. Marina is also survived by her siblings Sandra, Irene, Johnny, Mary, Tommie, Milisa and her beloved grandchildren Brittnie, Kimberly, Branden, Larry IV and Luna Liya and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was a friend to all and a mother to many. She was slow to anger and quick to forgive. The true embodiment of love.

Marina worked for 34 years in the natural gas compression industry. She worked her way up the ladder, broke through barriers, traveled the world, and found much success in any task at hand. She believed in hard work, excelled in every challenge, and was loved by her peers. She made the choice to retire after many years to help raise and love on her grandchildren.

Marina was catholic, and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Her faith was rock solid and apparent to all who knew her. Even as an adult she always considered herself a student of the word. She dissected the Bible with great consideration and taught her family how to love and seek Jesus.

Marina loved to serve others. Her hobbies included crafting, reading, and being the world’s best Nana. She loved to gift others with her beautiful crafts. You would always catch her reading a book or working on her next project. She loved to spoil her grand babies and her nieces and nephews.

Her beautiful soul will be incredibly missed. Marina was a wonderful, God loving woman with so much love to give. The Saldaña and Moya family would like to extend our gratitude and love to everyone who has prayed for us throughout this journey, reached out to us in any way, or provided meals during such a difficult time. We offer many thanks to all of the medical staff at Midland Memorial Hospital and Medical Center Hospital for fighting for my mom all the way to the end of her journey. Each and every nurse and doctor impacted our lives forever, may they be blessed and continue to be a blessing to others.

The viewing will be at 10am at Sunset memorial Gardens with a rosary following at 6pm. Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday May 4, 2021 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton at 1pm, graveside service directly following at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
