Jonas was born August 9th, 1970, in Odessa, Texas. He was a loving son, brother, nephew, stepfather, uncle, and cousin. As a child, he was a prankster and jokester at heart, bringing mischief to teachers and cheers and laughter to classmates. Jonas was a caring big brother to his sister Toña. Before he could drive, he took his younger sister to Dairy Queen for ice cream or 7-Eleven for candy. Jonas enjoyed wrestling with his older brothers, Julian and Joel. When friends came over to visit, he was always the center of attention and could be seen break-dancing in the living room. He was an athlete, teammate, and competitor. Friends considered him a great baseball player and an even better friend. In high school, he performed woodwork for his mother. On one occasion, he made a kneeling Santa sign that read "Jesus is the reason for the season" that she has cherished and displayed every Christmas for over two decades. Jonas graduated from Permian High School in 1988 and attended Odessa College and Sul Ross State University. He worked for several companies, including Rosas Café, Nissan, and Aramark Uniform Services. He was a naturally gifted salesman. Jonas loved his stepchildren dearly. He coached their athletic teams and taught them how to drive and repair cars. He was an outstanding handyman for his family. Jonas enjoyed going to restaurants and spending time with friends and family. Any grocery store or restaurant he entered, he was greeted by someone he knew. Jonas had a great personality, a wonderful smile, and a contagious laugh. Jonas was also an excellent cook and made the best green chile enchiladas and bacon-wrapped jalapeños. Any day of the week, you could find him wearing his burnt orange University of Texas attire. On the weekend, he enjoyed watching college and professional football with friends and family. One of his favorite college football athletes of all time was Vince Young. Jonas enjoyed listening to rock music. Some of his favorite bands included: Van Halen, Disturbed, Bush, Guns N' Roses, and Def Leppard. Although he was not a big fan of country music, he taught his baby sister to Texas Two-Step. Jonas was a man adored by all and will be forever missed. We love you, Jonas.

Jonas is survived by his parents Julian Suarez Jr. & Florence Suarez; his siblings, Joel Suarez and wife Sylvia, Toña Scott; his stepchildren Adrian Garcia, Justin Urias, Heather "Roo" Zimmerman and husband, Casey. He served as a father figure to Heather Orona and Jennifer Orona. His nephews and nieces: Rick Hernandez, Jillian Hernandez, Joel Andrés Suarez and wife Madison, and Michael "Mikey-Doo" Julian Scott. He is remembered by numerous friends and family.

Jonas is preceded in death among many loved aunts & uncles including, Lucy Chavez, Irene Lopez, Adam Ceniceros, and Gabriel Natividad, in 2020. His beloved oldest brother, Julian Suarez III, passed away on November 20th, 2020.

A special thank you to Marsha Barreraz and Isaiah Chavez from the Suarez family for their dedicated time and support. Thank you, everyone, for your thoughts and prayers. “He never met a stranger. Every person in the world, to him, was just a friend he hadn’t met yet.― Melanie Shawn, Sweet Reunion
