James Jones

James Donald Jones was born December 7, 1954 in Killeen, TX to Samuel Houston and Orbara Ellen Jones.

He graduated from Irvin High School in 1973 and continued to receive four bachelor’s degrees from UTPB.  Another accomplishment, he was a published poet.

James D. Jones was married to Kathryn Jones on March 20, 1998.  They were married 21 years.

James worked for Ector County Juvenile Probation for 23 years.  He enjoyed spending time with family, collecting hot wheels and enjoying life.

James is survived by his loving wife Kathryn Jones, his sister Sammie Rider of Pflugerville, TX, four amazing children Stephanie Jones and her husband Mario Martinez of Hutto, TX, Bradley Preston and wife Ashley for Granbury, TX, Mandy Jones of De Soto, TX and Melissa Preston of Gardendale; and the greatest joy of his life, his seven grandchildren: Adrianna, Julianna and Isabella Martinez of Hutto, TX, Tyler, Brian and Blake Preston of Granbury, TX and Calli Preston of Gardendale.

Memorial service will be at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at First Assembly of God at 1101 N Lee Ave., Odessa, TX.
