Jack Black

Jack H. Black, 94 of Slaton, Tx. Passed away on July 23, 2021 at his residence.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, , 2021.

Jack H. Black was born in Rotan, Texas to Pearlie Ray Black and Mattie Lella Black on July 3, 1927. He married Maetta Higgins in 1953 in Rankin, TX and was married 36 years prior to her death.  In 2000 he married Verlie Sharpe and was married 11 years prior to her death in 2011. He worked in the oil field for 63 years all over the Texas Permian basin, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Wyoming and made many friends over the years.

Jack is preceded in death by his parents Pearlie and Mattie Black, and his sister Mary Florence Black, and wives Maetta Black, and Verlie Black.

Jack is survived by brother Jerry Ray Black, nephew Russell Ray Black and wife Cynthia, and sister-in-law Judy Peek.

The Black family wishes to extend a sincere thanks to Jerry Ray Black for being by his brethren’s side for the last few years and taking great care of him.
