Harold was born in Shaw, Mississippi, to James and Lucile Kirk on June 17, 1942. Harold spent his young life in south Texas where he developed a love of Christ and music. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and became a member of the Marine Corps band serving his country from 1959 through 1963. One of the most memorable places he served was Yokosuka, Japan. After his service, Harold moved to Pecos and worked as a photographer for his brother-in-law’s newspaper. While living there, he was introduced to Lynda Sue Beeman, and they were married on May 5, 1965.

Shortly after the birth of their first child in 1966, they moved to Houston, TX. Harold was employed with Brown and Root for thirty years as a pipe fitter and welder where he used his unique skills to design piping solutions. In 1969, the family moved to Porter, TX, where he was a bi-vocational worship leader at Fellowship Baptist Church. He loved leading worship and serving.

Harold and Sue moved to Odessa in 1997 to be closer to Sue’s mother, Marilyn Beeman. Harold worked for Ref-Chem for several years until his retirement.

After the passing of his wife Sue in 2006, he married Judy Cosper, whom he met at a bereavement class at Central Baptist Church. They married on July 7, 2007 and had a wonderful life together traveling, playing games with close friends, watching the Texas Rangers, and serving together at Central Baptist Church. He was a man of integrity who loved Jesus and lived to honor Him.
