Midland

Frances Pearl Levin, a resident of Midland for seventy years, passed away January 17, 2021 at the age of ninety-four.

Frances was born in 1926 to Martin and Anna Kornblatt in Denton, Texas where she was raised and graduated high school at Denton High.  Frances attended The Hockaday School for her first two years of her college before attending the University of Texas at Austin, where she received her degree in Art.

During her years at UT she met Max Levin, and upon his graduation they married and after completion of his master’s degree in geology, they moved to Midland, Texas to work for Conoco. It was in Midland that they raised four boys and where Frances spent the remainder of her life.

Frances was a participant in many organizations and charities in her many years in Midland, including being a past President of the American Cancer Society, Heritage Study Club, and the Sisterhood of Temple Beth El, as well as a participant in Meals on Wheels, the Midland Symphony, the Midland Opera Theatre, and a Life Master at Duplicate Bridge.

Frances was married to Max Levin for 55 years, until his passing in 2001 and is survived by her four sons, Jack L. Levin of Honolulu, Hawaii, David M. Levin and his wife Betsy of San Antonio, Texas, Robert A. Levin of Midland, Texas and Barry L. Levin of Midland, Texas.  She is also survived by two grandchildren, Mark B. Levin and Martha B. Levin of San Antonio, Texas; and four nieces and nephews.

In her heart she would thank the kind help of her care giver Addie Carroll and all the care givers at Hospice.

Frances is preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Anna Kornblatt; and her brothers, Herschel and Leon Kornblatt. Frances was beloved by her children and many friends.

A private service will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Rabbi Zimelman officiating.
