Eddie Cobb

August 2, 1949 — March 27, 2021

Waxahachie

On March 27, 2021 Eddie Don Cobb saw Jesus.  Eddie's faith was made sight when he met his Savior face to face.  Eddie was born in Odessa Texas on August 2, 1949 to Bonnie and Carl Cobb.  He was saved at the age of nine.

He graduated from Odessa High in 1969.  On February 20, 1970, he married the love of his life, Judy Pearson Cobb.  They shared 51 years and 35 days of marriage together.  They have three children, Kimberly, Meredith, and Carl.  Eddie loved all sports.  Baseball, basketball, and football.  He especially loved his Texas Longhorns.  Eddie loved dove and quail hunting with his dogs.  He could sit and fish all day long.

Eddie loved his church.  He could talk to anyone about Jesus.  In the last several years, he would pray the sweetest prayers.  Eddie loved his family.  And he loved his grandchildren.  He was the best Papa ever!  He usually would get them in trouble.  He would tell them, "Papa says, it's ok."  Eddie sang all his grandkids to sleep singing Waltz Across Texas.

Eddie worked in the oil field for several years before moving into pest control. Eddie worked for Lester Humphreys Pest Control before starting his own pest control company, Ace Pest Control.  He continued to work in this field for seven years.  Eddie delivered the Dallas Morning News each morning before his regular workday began.  Eddie even dabbled in demo work for Boars Head.  In his older years, Eddie became a bus drive for ECISD.  He drove a bus for the district for six years.  Eddie eventually transitions to Crossing Guard in Odessa.  After a move to Waxahachie, Texas, Eddie continued to work as a Crossing Guard.  The school kids loved him!  He received cards and gifts all the time as “Thank You” from the children he served.  Eddie would pray for each child as they walked by.  He would have walked in front of any vehicle to protect them.

Eddie is preceded in death by his mother and father, Bonnie and Carl Cobb, and sister, Carlene Brown.

He leaves behind his wife, Judy Pearson Cobb; three children, Kimberly, and husband David Waddell; Meredith and husband Brandon Chance; and Carl Adam Cobb and wife Kristi; his twelve grandchildren, Avery Chance, Hayden Waddell, Reece Waddell, Addyson Chance, Olivia Waddell, Amberlee Chance, Bailey Shannon, Colin Shannon, Heath Waddell, Harper Cobb, Gwynn Cobb, and Gehrig Cobb; his brothers, Teddy Cobb and wife Beth, and Mike Cobb and wife Rachael; and sister, Doyce and husband David Thompson. He had many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
