Delia was delivered by a midwife in Stanton, Texas to Juana Ramirez Ochoa and Arturo Ochoa, Sr. on August 11, 1952.  She went to school in Midland graduating from Midland High School in 1970.  She married Ignacio “Chito” Morales on July 2, 1971, in Odessa, Texas.

She worked in several positions throughout the years in the medical field and her most rewarding position was as a teacher’s aide for autistic children enrolled with ECISD. Her proudest roles were being a wife to Chito, mother to her daughters Denise and Deanna Jane who we all call DJ, and grandmother to her pride and joy Nikolai, her only grandchild.

She found much joy in her hobbies of gardening, sewing, and dancing which is how she and Chito met and continued to enjoy throughout their marriage.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister Alma Castillo of Midland, Texas.

Delia is survived by her husband of 52 years, Chito Morales; her daughter, Denise Morales Kalajdzic and her husband Zoran Kalajdzic of Corinth, Texas; daughter, Deanna Jane Morales Urias and her husband Lanny “L J” Urias of Garland, Texas; her grandson, Nikolai Kalajdzic also from Corinth.

She is also survived by her brother, Arturo Ochoa, Jr. of Greenwood, Texas and Margarita and Trini Sanchez of Garland, Texas.

For those who knew Delia, they know she never met a stranger.  She is going to be dearly missed by her sisters-in-law, her nieces and nephews, and an endless list of people who knew her as their best friend.

In lieu of flowers or donations, Delia’s family ask that you consider becoming an organ donor in recognition of her own kidney transplant from a generous, life-saving donor 20 years ago.

The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Drs Nikolay Azarov, MD and Khavar Dar, MD and the Fourth Floor CCU nurses of Medical Center Hospital for their unwavering care and heroic efforts in caring for our beloved Delia.
