Carlos Artalejo left us suddenly to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at the age of 74, in Odessa, Texas.
Carlos was born in Fabens, Texas, to Manuel and Magdalena Artalejo on March 8, 1948. He married the love of his life Olivia Garcia on August 6, 1969, had two children, and lived his life in Odessa, Texas. Carlos was a devoted worker for Flint Energy as an assistant super intendent for 41 years. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle. Since retiring he enjoyed spending as much time as possible with his grandchildren, spending time at the lake, and other outdoor activities. He was a jokester and made us laugh often. Carlos touched many people’s hearts in his lifetime and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents Manuel and Magdalena Artalejo, sister Martha Leal, and father-in-law and mother-in-law Fidencio and Guadalupe Garcia.
Carlos is survived by his wife Olivia Artalejo; son, Carlos Artalejo Jr; daughter, Regina and Gary Valeriano; five grandchildren, Samantha Lopez of New Braunfels, Alexander Valeriano, Cristian Valeriano, Jonathan Valeriano, and Izabella Valeriano all of Midland, Texas; sisters, Ofelia and Charlie Hernandez, Sylvia and Phillip Montez, Arjelia Cruz, Araceli and Ramon Vasquez all of Dumas, Norena and Pablo Bustamante of Red Oak; and brother, Manuel Artalejo of Dumas and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will take place on Monday, May 9, 2022, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, in Odessa. A Recitation of the Rosary will take place on Monday, May 9, 2022, at 7:00 PM, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Odessa.
