Blake Ellison

November 11, 1983 — April 10, 2022

Odessa

Terence Blake Ellison, 38, of Odessa, Texas, passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness on Sunday, April 10, 2022, in Odessa, TX.

Blake was born to Rick and Judy Ellison in Odessa, TX on November 11, 1983.  Blake was their youngest child and along with his two siblings, they have called Odessa home for all their lives.  He attended Ross Elementary, Hood Jr. High and Permian High School graduating in 2002.  Blake was an accomplished Diesel Mechanic.

Blake was a loving son, brother, and uncle.  From childhood on up into adulthood he had a funny sense of humor and was always a jokester.  Blake played many sports during his childhood with his dad being a coach for a lot of it.  His mom faithfully cheered and supported him throughout all his activities during his entire life.  Over the last couple of years, Blake developed a passion for wood working and built his mother many things…including a swing, signs, and birdhouses that she will be able to enjoy and cherish forever.  Blake loved riding his Harley, no matter the weather, it could be hot, cold, windy, or raining.  He also treasured the many rides alongside his dad and brother.  His sister blessed him with his only nephew, Preston, however most times they felt more like brothers.  Blake was proud of him and adored him like his own son.  Blake was a Christian man and true believer in Jesus.  He studied and knew the bible well and did his very best to live his life with those principals.

Blake is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Dewitt, and Sue Bobbitt; paternal grandparents, Ben, and Sue Ellison; uncle Wayne Fletcher, cousin Kerry Fletcher and uncle Ben Ellison. It gives us peace knowing that Blake is reunited and rejoicing in Heaven with all of them.

Left to cherish memories of Blake’s life are his parents, Rick and Judy Ellison of Odessa, TX; older brother Brice Ellison of Odessa, TX, and niece, Charleigh; older sister, Rikka Ellison of Odessa, TX and his most very special nephew, Preston Ellison of Dallas, TX.  Aunt Sammie (Bobbitt) and Lee Hamilton of San Antonio, TX; aunt Linda (Bobbitt) Adams of Abilene, TX; uncle Roy and Kathy Bobbitt of Odessa, TX; aunt Ann Ellison of Odessa, TX and great aunt Patsy Dalby of Carrollton, TX as well as a host of many cousins.

Pallbearers are TJ Sparks, Matt Wolfe, Brandon Howle, Blake Little, Jarret (Donut) Jones and Tyler Stribling.

Family and friends will have a visitation from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Friday, April 15, 2022, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

Blake’s life will be celebrated with funeral services at 10:00 AM, Saturday, April 16, 2022, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. Byron McWilliams officiating.  Burial will follow immediately after in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
