Bentura Rocha

Bentura Rocha, 86, of Odessa, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2022, in Odessa.

Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, June 3, 2022, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Hood officiating.   Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home of Odessa, Texas.

Bentura was born in Luling, Texas, to Matilde and Sarah Tijerina on July 14, 1935.

Bentura, “Bennie” to some of her friends, loved to sew, with quilting as her specialty.  She also loved to garden. Her favorite color and flower were lilac. Not only did she love gardening, but she excelled at it.  She probably had the greenest thumbs in the south, able to grow an oasis in the West Texas desert!  But, above all, Bentura loved her family.  She was known for doting especially on the babies, all babies could wrap her around their little fingers. Bentura was a wonderful woman who will be missed by many.

Bentura is survived by her son, Joe Rocha and his wife Gloria; daughter, Irene Salinas; son, Ben Rocha; son, Richard Rocha and his wife Cecelia; and daughter, Sarah Smallwood, as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and friends.

Pallbearers will be Israel Salinas, Samuel Salinas, Richie Rocha, Adrian Rocha, Rusty Rocha, and Richard Rocha.
