Arely Navarrete

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Arely Sotelo Navarrete of Odessa, TX who received her heavenly wings on January 8, 2022, at the age of 37.

Arely was born on September 27, 1984, in Odessa, TX.  She was a dedicated mother first and foremost.  She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them.  She had a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh.  She had a love for soccer and for her Green Bay Packers.

Growing up, Arely loved sports, family, and the outdoors. She enjoyed spending time with her kids whether it was at the lake or at a soccer game.  She also loved spending time with friends and family, watching a football game or just enjoying a good meal with mama Chayo.  She was always smiling and having a good time.  Arely was loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed each and every day.

Arely is survived by her daughter, Mariah Nicolas; sons, Christian, and Sebastian Nicolas; mother, Martina Navarrete; and father, Juan A Sotelo; brothers, Alex Navarrete, Jordy Navarrete, Juan Ivan Sotelo, Joel Sotelo, and Jovanne Sotelo; sisters, Allyn Navarrete, and Joanna Sotelo; as well as nieces and nephews, Alex Navarrete Jr, Jocellyn Sotelo, Nylee Aguilar, Nayden Sotelo, Max Sotelo, Juan Sotelo, Carolina Sotelo, Ana Sotelo, and Jovanne Sotelo Jr.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Tomasa and Jesus Navarrete, and Don Juan Sotelo.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, January 13, 2022, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, with Recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 PM.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, January 14, 2022, at Holy Redeemer Catholic with Father Joe Uecker officiating.  Burial will follow at Ector County Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Alex Navarrete, Jordy Navarrete, Jovanne Sotelo, Joel Sotelo, Juan Ivan Sotelo, Fausto Sotelo, Alberto Alcantar, and Aaron Rodriguez.
