Alejandro (Alex, Cano) Escobedo, 70, of Odessa, TX passed away on June 22, 2021, in Odessa TX. Viewing hours will be on Monday, June 28th from 4pm-6pm also followed by a Rosary from 6pm-8pm at Sunset Chapel. Tuesday, June 29th at 10 am, there will be a Mass held at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton 7601 N Grandview Ave, Odessa TX, with Father Mark. Burial will be at Sunset cemetery arranged by Sunset Memorial Gardens 6801 E, I20BL, Odessa TX 79762

Alejandro (Alex, Cano) Alvino Escobedo Sr. was born in Ozona TX, to Jovita Lopez Escobedo and Domingo Escobedo on June 8th, 1951. He was raised by Florentina (Carmela) Portales Escobedo. He graduated from Reagan County High School. He married Trinidad on June 19th,1971 in Big Lake Tx. He worked for 46 years in the oilfield as a salesman for numerous companies. He served his country as an army veteran during the Vietnam war. He was a member of the Catholic Church. Alex was preceded in death by Jovita Lopez (mother), Domingo Escobedo (father), Florentina (Carmela) Portales Escobedo (stepmother), Elias Lopez (brother), and Eusebia Subia (sister).

Alex is survived by his wife, Trinidad Galindo Escobedo, their four children and their spouses, Alex and Heather Escobedo, Mary and Joey Pinedo, Olivia and Bryan Martin, and Patrick and Kimberly Escobedo. His four brothers Fernando, Domingo, Joe, and Martin. His three sisters Rosa, Linda, and Louise. His seventeen grandchildren, Michelle, Austin, Angelica, Kristen, Justin, Isaac, Mariah, Matthew, Molly, Montana, Abel, Montgomery, Devon, Audrina, Noah, Patrick Jr, and Jonah. His great-grandchildren Aviyah, Azariah, Layton, Rylan, Sebastian, Ruben, Ayla, and Julian also accounting many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Austin Escobedo, Justin Escobedo, Isaac Ramos, Abel Ramos, Nick Subia, and James West.

Alex and Trinidad Escobedo lived a great life together that lasted fifty years. During those years, they had their four children. He was an affectionate and loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was deeply passionate about his family. He would enlighten any room with his presence and loved to be the center of attention. He enjoyed dancing with his wife in their living room to Country/Spanish music. He loved karaoke.

Cooking was one of his many talents, he could whip up just about anything in the kitchen. His specialty was biscuits and gravy, he loved to cook for his family; there would be many times that you would see him in his kitchen. He passed on his passion for cooking to his children. For family gatherings, he would cook his famous smoked briskets, he would cater for family and friends.  He also enjoyed eating, his favorite thing was chocolate, he could eat just about anything with chocolate. His favorites were Rollos and German Chocolate Cake.

He enjoyed helping people. He was always ready to lend a helping hand.

Alex loved to be dressed in his best, he always liked to look like a cowboy. He had a great collection of cowboy hats and boots. Everyone who knew him could point him out from a mile away because of his western aesthetic.

His childhood on the ranch was one of his most cherished times of his life, he loved to share his stories with his grandchildren. He had a great memory about his life, he could go on forever about all the things he did, the people he met, and the places he went. Alex will be deeply missed.
