Aida Benavides, 88, of Odessa, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, in Odessa, Texas.
Recitation of the Rosary will be at 7:00 PM, Monday, May 30, 2022, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Tim Hayter of St. Ann's Catholic Church officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Aida was born in Ojinaga, Chihuahua Mexico to Jesus and Ventura Franco on December 23, 1933.
Aida is preceded in death by her loving husband, Miguel Benavides, her two brothers, Manuel and Jesus Franco, three sisters, Juana Madrid, Maria Madrid and Socorro Franco.
Aida is survived by her two daughters, Diana Rodriguez (Johnny) and Linda Reyes (Joe), her nephew who she raised as her son, AJ Franco. Her three granddaughters, Yvette Gonzales, Lauren Castillo, and Ashlan Venzor. She is survived by nine great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Aida raised her children with love and devotion, with her husband Mike Benavides. Aida had a love for nature and enjoyed spending time outside and tending to her plants and yard. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Ida treasured her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and will be dearly missed. She was a breast cancer survivor and a woman whom her granddaughters looked up to and have beautiful memories of.
