Adan Ramirez

Adan Rodriguez Ramirez, 79, of Odessa, TX, passed away on September 25, 2021.

Adan was born on August 10, 1942, to Reynaldo and Francisca Ramirez in Terlingua, Texas.  In 1964 he went on to join the Army and served 2 years.

After returning from the Army, he started his first job at City of Odessa as a utilities supervisor, kickstarting a 26 year career.

In 1963, Adan met Lucinda Flores. On November 1, 1964, Adan and Lucinda went on to marry, and later had three children, Melissa, Michael, and Andrew Ramirez. They also raised two children, Emma Rodriguez, and Elizabeth Flores.

In 1992, Adan retired and spent his time traveling, gambling, and gardening.

Adan is preceded in death by his father, Reynaldo; mother, Francisca; sister, Eva Guerrero; and brothers, Raul and Cipriano Ramirez.

He is survived by his wife, Lucinda; children, Melissa, Michael (Jessica), and Andrew (Tiffany); 13 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren. As well as brother, Tony Ramirez; and sister, Micaela Flores.

We will miss his smile, hugs, joyful singing, and dancing! He was always the center of attention and life of the party. His passing leaves a huge void in our lives that will never be filled.

Isaha Ramirez, Frank Ortega in place of (Samuel Garza) Tony Ramirez in place of (Jeremiah Valencia), Martin Ramirez, Kristopher Ramirez, David Ramirez, Brandon Wadley, and Mathew Dominguez will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday, October 4, 2021, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, with the Recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 PM.

Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, with Father Chavez officiating.  Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa, TX.
