Yvonne Bertrand

Yvonne Smith Bertrand,84, of Odessa, peacefully passed away on February 28, 2024, in Midland Texas

Yvonne was born in Minter Texas to Charles & Katherine Smith on September 4, 1939. She married Allen Bertrand on September 13, 1957. They eventually settled in Hobbs, NM where she spent her time raising their five children. In 1987 they moved to Odessa, Texas where she retired with Sears and Roebuck. Yvonne was full of endless talent, she played the piano, wrote songs but her true passion was singing her music. She would travel and perform with local bands on the weekends. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Hobbs NM and was part of the church choir. She loved being with her kids and grandkids. Yvonne never met a stranger she loved talking to people.

Yvonne is survived by five children Addie Floyd Venegas and husband, Eddie of Odessa, Darrell Bertrand of Odessa, Donald Bertrand and wife Rebecca of Sherman Tx, Melisa Bertrand of Jal NM, and Christopher Bertrand of Dallas Tx. she has 11 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.

Yvonne is preceded in death by her husband Allen Bertrand, parents Charles and Katherine Smith, Brothers Charles Smith and Elbert Neal Smith

Memorials may be given to Legacy Ranch Memory care in Midland Tx.

The family of Yvonne Bertrand wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr Jorge Alamo and Dr Liliana Andrade, Home Hospice of Odessa/Midland and a special Thank you to Legacy Ranch Memory care in Midland.

No services are scheduled a Family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
