Wayne was born in El Dorado, Texas to George Raymond Dickens and Ruby Evans Dickens on April 09, 1936. He married the love of his life Glenda Dickens on December 26, 1991, in Odessa, Texas. Wayne worked as a downhole fisherman and consultant as well as owning his own oilfield company L & G Services. He served in the United States Marine Corp from 1954-1962, where he received and was awarded the defense medal. He was a lifelong member of the V.F.W.
Wayne was by far the most generous and loving man. He was well known in the oil fields of West Texas. He was very good at what he did in his career. But, even more importantly he was a family man. His wife, Glenda, was the light of his eyes, and his children and grandchildren always kept him smiling. Most of Odessa knew him as Wayne, but for us he will forever be our “Papa”.

Wayne is preceded in death by his father George; mother Ruby; older sister Georgia and two younger sisters Doris Jean, and Vickie.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Glenda Dickens; daughter Tracey Smith of Dallas, TX; son Scott Roys (wife Michelle) of Midland, TX; daughter Courtney Johnson (husband Ron) of Dallas, Tx; son Tim Roys (wife Theresa) of Midland, TX; daughter Amanda Covington (husband Joe) of Magnolia, Tx; sister Mignonne Wiggins; brother John “Tody” Dickens; sister Ruth “Gaynell” Taylor; brother George Jr. “Tex” Dickens;
grandchildren Josh, Justin, Nick, Mykale, Griffin, Kayla, Kira, Kelsey, Taylor, Jacob, Ashlynne, McKenah, and Teagen; as well as 14 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Josh Smith, Justin Smith, Jacob Covington, Teagen Covington, Scott Roys, and Tim Roys.
