Virginia "Sissy" Mcclure

Virginia Ruth McClure (Sissy) was born on May 15, 1939, in Elmore, Texas. She received her eternal wings when she was called home on February 8, 2023, in Odessa.

Sissy was loved by many and was a mother to all who knew her. She was very protective of her loved ones and had a unique bond with them all. Something everyone knows about her is her great love and fondness for animals, especially horses. She was always known as the horse whisperer.

Visitation will be held on February 13, 2023, from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place on February 14, 2023, at 2:00 PM, officiated by Dr. Tim Gilliam with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Virginia was born to Birdie and Lee Ovid Smith. She was married to her soulmate and love of her life Bobby McClure for 57 wonderful years.  She graduated from Odessa High School and worked as a very loved barber for many years.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Birdie; father, Lee Ovid; son, Ronnie Royce Richardson; son-in-law, John Krogh; nieces, Angie Smith and Monica McClure; and nephew, John Paul Kay.

Virginia is survived by her husband, Bobby McClure; daughter, Rhonda Krogh; grandchildren, Candis Richardson, Duston Swafford, Amanda Richardson, Bryton Richardson; great grandchildren, Nolan and Hope; nieces, Kayla Silvia, Paula Kay and Dr. Sharon Garcia, Kelly Watts; nephews, Billy Silvia  and Billy Smith; brother-in-law, Doug McClure, Sandra McClure; brother, Billy Lee Smith Sr; and Cheree, Jessica and Travis; and multiple great nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Ethan Wagner, Leighton Silvia, Lanny Gortney, Jackie McLendon, Billy Smith, Trey Hinojos, Tracy Ausbie, and Billy Silvia.

The family would like to thank all of our family, friends, caregiver Elissa Navarrete and longtime friend and Dr. Weldon Butler for all their help, love and support.
