Trevor LaPier, 55, passed away on April 3, 2026, in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
A visitation will be held Sunday, April 12, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Sunset Memorial. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 13, 2026, at 4:30 PM, officiated by Reverend Dr. Jimmy Braswell, also at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
Trevor was born on April 15, 1970, in Sarnia, Ontario, to Tom and Karen LaPier. He attended Lambton Central Collegiate & Vocational Institute and graduated in 1988 in Petrolia, Ontario. He went on to earn his associate degree from Lambton College in 1990.
In his early years, Trevor worked filling rail cars and steadily worked his way up into health and safety in the oil field industry. He dedicated over 20 years of service to BP p.1.c. Following his retirement from BP, he continued working with Enerflex until the time of his passing.
Trevor will be remembered for the lasting impression he left on everyone he met. He was truly the life of the party—always willing to help others, always including everyone, and always making people laugh. He had a genuine spirit and was, above all, a devoted trophy husband to his wife and loving father to his girls. He was a true girl’s dad.
Trevor and his wife Shannon began their love story in October 2022, and from that moment on, they were inseparable. Trevor often liked to remind Shannon that she was the best decision he ever made. He showed her what true love was, and together they shared countless adventures, memories, and laughter. Those memories will live on forever. Shannon was by his side as he took his last breath at 1:59 AM and his last heartbeat at 2:12 AM, as he officially crossed into eternal peace in the arms of Jesus.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Karen LaPier, and his sister, Dianne LaPier.
He is survived by his wife, Shannon of Odessa; his daughters, Sara and Melanie LaPier of Petrolia, Ontario; his stepdaughter, Ashleigh and Jimmaily; his granddaughter Aizlea of Del Rio; as well as his Dublin Block family and his extended family in Canada.
“Goodbyes are not forever. Goodbyes are not the end. They simply mean I’ll miss you, until we meet again.”
