Terri Ann Conner

September 21, 1951 — April 28, 2024

Odessa

Terri Ann Conner spread her wings and soared into Heaven on Sunday, April 28, 2024. The Queen was surrounded by her Girls in Waiting and her Main Squeeze.

Terri was an only child born to Tommy and LaRue Tucker on September 21, 1951. Terri was the first grandchild to Q.L. "Shorty" and Eldora Hall. Terri was not spoiled at all. Shorty spread a sheet of plastic on the living room floor so that Terri could watch Miss America and make mud pies. Terri had a personality that was bigger than life itself. Many said she was the "life of the party." She taught us about The Eagles, The Commadores, The Doobie Brothers, The Steve Miller Band, Linda Ronstadt, CCR and so many other great bands. We still have the love for the oldies!

Terri met Jerry Conner, the love of her life, at the Andrews Rodeo Dance. They spent the next 53 years and 10 months dancing, loving and laughing. Together, they had two daughters, Chantel and Shallen. Terri was always supportive of everything that the girls were involved in. She would make the "forgotten cupcakes or cookies" at 10pm. She would "help" with the last-minute book report, research paper or science project. Then Abbey LaRue was born, and we only thought she loved us. Terri became Sweetie. Sweetie and Abbey made cakes, read books, and painted Easter eggs. For Abbey's 3rd birthday, Sweetie built a Cinderella carriage and castle out of cardboard boxes & glitter! Sweetie has been waiting for the arrival of her great granddaughter, Delilah Rose. We now know that little Rosie will be born with her guardian angel by her side. Sweetie's love was unconditional and everlasting.

Terri's talents were countless. She owned a successful daycare center in Monahans. She was a party planner, caterer and wedding cake maker. She was a preschool teacher and then she discovered counseling. Terri finally passed algebra and earned her Associates degree in Chemical dependency counseling. Terri retired from both the Midland and Ector County Probation departments, where she was a drug and alcohol counselor. Terri really loved her private counseling. Terri changed so many lives, every single session.

Terri is proceeded in death by her parents, Tommy and LaRue Tucker.

Terri is survived by the love of her life, Jerry Conner and Bella LaRue (their 4-legged baby); daughters, Chantel and husband Chris Thomasson, Shallen and husband Torrey Powell; granddaughters, Abbey Conner Thomasson and Kati Thomasson; and great granddaughter, Delilah Rose.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Home Hospice of Odessa and The Shriner Organization or Scottish Rite Hospitals. The family wishes to extend our heartfelt thanks to Home Hospice and Home Instead Caregivers for taking such good care of our Sweetie.
