Teresa Fletcher McMinn

Teresa “Terry” Fletcher McMinn, 99, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2026.

She was born on July 14, 1926, in Stonewall, Texas, to Clyde and Estelle Fletcher. She had an adventurous childhood, which included living in Aruba during her teenage years, being chased by German U-boats on her move back home to the United States at the outset of World War II and attending boarding school at the University of Arkansas.

Terry married her loving husband of 64 years, Fred McMinn, on June 19, 1947, in Sweetwater, Texas. Her only child, Tom McMinn, was born on January 6, 1952.

In June of 1971, together with her husband and son, she founded McMinn’s Furniture in Odessa where she provided a calm presence and excellent math skills until her retirement.

Terry enjoyed gardening, genealogy, golf, and was an avid reader. She continued to closely follow current events until her passing. Terry adored her three granddaughters and was delighted whenever they called or came to visit her. She also had a special love of chocolate and was known affectionately as “Hershey Kiss Grandma” by some of her great-grandchildren. Terry was a member of First Methodist Church of Odessa.

Terry is survived by her daughter-in-law, Annette McMinn, and her three granddaughters, Keely Knoche (Ben Brewer), Anna Brandl (Zac), and Kate Iglesias (David). Her eight great-grandchildren and her best friend, Kit-Kit the cat, will also miss her dearly.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son.

The family wishes to extend our deep gratitude to Terry’s long-time caregiver and friend, Mary Garcia, for her constant love and dedication.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa.
