Susan Renee Henry, 34 of Odessa died Monday, February 4, 2008 at Banner Desert Sands Hospital in Mesa, Arizona from short illness. She was born April 5, 1973 in Kermit, Texas to Danny and Janie Wetherbee Henry and lived in Odessa prior to the family moving to Mesa, AZ in the early 1980s. Susan graduated from Dobson High School in Mesa. She returned to Odessa in 1995 and worked as a teachers aid for Head Start later joining the staff at Dr. Bellos Office and then worked with Nurses Unlimited as a medical clerk. In August of 2007 she returned to Mesa to help care for her mother. Susan was a lifetime member of VFW Post 4372 Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her grandparents Carl C. Henry and Jenny Wetherbee.

She is survived by the light of her life, her daughter Alaxis Jane Henry, and her niece whom she shared her life with Ashleigh Sassy Alfaro. Her sister Shannon Alfaro and her brother Carl Robert Rob Henry and his wife Amber and their son Austin Robert Henry. Her father Danny Henry and his wife Linda, her mother Janie Popple and her husband Doug; her grandparents Mae Henry and R. W. Wetherbee. Step-sisters Kim Phillips and Alicia Popple; step-brothers Henry Clark and Eric Popple. Pallbearers will be Rob Henry, Austin Henry, Tobin Wynn, Eric Popple, Donnie Ledbetter, Tim Long, Jr. Anderson, Bubba Clark, John Phillips, and Wes Pate.

Memorials may be directed to Lupus Foundation of America, Inc.

Funeral service will be 3:00 PM Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at Sherwood Baptist Church with Bro. Shelton Ivy officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
