Steve Patrick Maruska

Steve Maruska 74, of Odessa, Texas, passed away on Monday, May 19, 2025, in Odessa, Texas.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 23, 2025, from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home. A livestream service will be available with Reverend Dr. Jimmy Braswell, officiating.

Steve Maruska was born in Lincoln, Nebraska to Anton and Celia Maruska on June 2, 1951. He married Carla Maruska on December 27, 1969, in Smith Center Kansas. At the young age of 17, Steve went to trade school in Racine, Wisconsin to be a Diesel Mechanic. He was a Diesel Mechanic for 40 years.

Steve is preceded in death by his parents, Anton and Celia Maruska; His brothers, John Farritor, Gene Maruska; sister, Theresa Pargman.

He is survived by his wife Carla Maruska; his kids, Tim Maruska, Jamie Maruska, Jessica Maruska and husband Raymond, Janie Maruska and husband Kevin; Derek Quade, who Steve treated like his son.

He had 14 grandchildren, Kolby Maruska, Adrian Maruska, Ashley Gray, Victoria Maruska, Matthew Gray, Idalis Urias, Lexie Garcia, Devin Urias, Isaiah Garcia, Dylan Steven Maruska Upchurch, Makayla Settles, Andrew Settles, Mason Garcia, and Bradlee Pickens.

He had 5 great Grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Dylan Steven, Maruska Upchurch, Matthew Gray, Andrew Settles, Isaiah Garcia, Kevin Pickens, and Tarenzic Overstreet.

Honorary Pallbearers will be, Mason Garcia and Bradlee Pickens.
