Sherri Lee Brooks, age 64, of Odessa, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 26, 2025, peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 9, 1961, in Hobbs, New Mexico, and was later adopted by her loving mother and father, the late Don and Bes Castleman.
Sherri is survived and missed by her loving husband of 45 years, Steve; and her children; son, Cory and wife Marianne Brooks; son, Lance and wife Jordan Brooks; and daughter, Jaci and husband Trey Rivas. Forever cherished and remembered by her nine grandchildren, Conner, Kaden, Easton, Peyton, Tayzha, Brynn, Amarri, Brooks and Isabella; and her six siblings; sister, Linda and husband Scotty Wright; brother, Kendall and wife Becky Cowan; brother Jerry and wife Renee Cowan; sister, Patti and husband Ordis Copeland; sister, Brenda and husband Randy Skinner; and brother, Larry and wife Juhree Castleman; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Sherri was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Bes Castleman and granddaughter, Julianne Kate Brooks.
Sherri was a beloved wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was the heart of our home and family and played an active role in each of her children’s and grandchildren’s lives. She showed unconditional love and support to all of those around her and was a pillar of strength during the peaks and valleys that life brings. She will be deeply missed, but we rest in knowing that we are promised an eternal life with our Lord and Savior where there is no more pain and suffering. 1 Thessalonians 4: 13-14: [13] Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. [14] For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.
