Sarah Margaret Fewell

February 15, 1935 — October 19, 2023

Odessa

ODESSA, Sarah “Margaret” Fewell bade farewell to her earthly home on the morning of October 19, 2023, and was welcomed with jubilation into her heavenly home. Margaret was born in Okolona, AR on Valentines Day, February 14, 1935, to Leland Greer May and Daisy Dell Clark May, and was a little sister to Clark May. After spending her younger years in Little Rock, AR, Margaret moved to Ropesville, TX to begin a teaching career. It was there she met a dashing fellow from the Air Force, Clyde Wayne Fewell. Margaret and Clyde were married shortly thereafter and moved to Odessa, TX where they had two children and planted deep roots. Margaret continued to teach, first at Ector, and in 1961 settled at Permian High School. For the next 36 years, you could find her teaching the fine art of typing to countless numbers of teenagers and acting as the Peppett’s sponsor.  Go MOJO! Margaret was a member of Northside Baptist Church for over 40 years where she taught the Ruth Sunday School class. She enjoyed bookstores, reading books, working crossword puzzles, watching birds especially hummingbirds, and breakfast at Dumplins. Margaret loved her family and friends, but above all, she loved the Lord. Every morning began with Margaret reading her Bible and saying her prayers. No phone call with family members ever ended without her reminding all to, “Say your prayers and witness!”. Margaret was pre-deceased by her husband, parents, and brother. She is survived by her daughter Sarah (Green) Chadic; Son, Clyde “Wayne” Fewell (Sharon); 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home. A funeral service officiated by Clydel Chapman will be held at Northside Baptist Church Monday, October 23, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. with internment to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held immediately preceding the funeral service at the church beginning at 9:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to the Northside Baptist Church building fund. Condolences to the family may be made on Margaret’s guestbook at www.sunsetodessa.com.
