Rosemary Ann Chacon, always 25 (48), of Odessa, Texas, passed away peacefully, surrounded by love, on August 7, 2026, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, Texas.

Rosemary Chacon was born on September 17, 1977, in lowa City, Iowa, to Stanley Clair Debes and Rosa Martha Debes. She was grounded in humble beginnings, living a modest, hard-working life as farm life was in Iowa. She branched into the Permian Basin, Odessa, TX during Junior High, but returned to Iowa to finish High School as a very young mother.

Rosemary entered this world on her terms from her first breath she made sure she was first between her and her Twinkie, Stan! From that point forward she made it her life’s mission to become the best Rosemary the world has seen. Rosemary brought her pride and joy into this world (Jessica) she did not stop! Rosemary accomplished great things in her young life. Being a young mother was something she was incredibly proud of and leaned on that for strength. She was driven to show her daughter, Jessica, how to succeed no matter what obstacles were present. She later shared this with her other children raised with David. She stood firm to “Hold Your Position” when the tides grew high. Inspiring others, Rosemary helped develop a young mother’s schooling program in Elkader, IA so young parents could earn their HS education. She proved that with perseverance, anything can be accomplished. Being a mother came naturally for Rosemary. Being loving came natural for her. Being firm, yet fair also came so natural for her.

Rosemary was a natural born caretaker. She did not back down from challenging caretaking needs…ever. After returning to Texas, she joined the nursing field. This career path was both challenging and rewarding and she embraced it wholeheartedly. She worked as an RN for many years, obtained her master’s degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner later in her career. She then focused on Health and Wellness for others, which led to her business launch, Changing Butterflies. She did amazing things and loved inspiring others and helping them grow their health and confidence.

She met some of her best friends, developed her faith, career, and built her family in West Texas. Career was only half of her heart. The other half of her heart belonged to her family and friends. She met her true other half, David, 13 years ago. Rosemary embraced this man and his kids, which became her husband and the other 4 children she always knew she would have, long before she met them. She loved fiercely and was incredibly protective of the life they built and shared together. This wasn’t always an easy path for them, but it was the path that she was once again, incredibly proud to embrace. She was beautiful, heart, mind and soul, flashing a million dollar smile! She loved beyond measure and was loved beyond measure.

They enjoyed traveling, cooking, being with friends and family, and most notably, just hanging out with each other! Weekend cookouts or evening meals where everyone is welcome, IS who Rosemary was. Annual Friendsgiving and Christmas with Friends were hosted with open door policy and your attendance was expected! She loved being with her mother “Madre”, husband/her person David, daughter/best friend Jessica, kids, and Twinkie/brother Stan, all her family, and friends whenever anyone was up for it. She was always open to having someone ‘stop by.’ If not this, she was on the phone with her northern siblings, philosophizing about life and storytelling.

Rosemary was devoted to her family, work and truly lived life to the fullest. She was an honorable woman based in faith and love. She held expectations for others high, but those for herself, even higher. If she said she was going to do something, she did it, if she told you she felt something she meant it, because speaking her feelings did not come lightly for Rosemary. Yet she put her feelings on her sleeve. If you got it, you freaking knew it! She never once took a back seat approach! If we are here let’s fix it if not let’s move along. She did not hold grudges or hard feelings, just moved forward. And if she told you she would be somewhere at a certain time well...she would show up eventually! Fashionably late, often with drink in tow! She loved passionately and she gave generously. She laughed loudly and she sang terribly but she was extremely cute when she did it. She loved tulips and the beach and she hated liars.

She left her mark solidly in both Iowa and Texas. She is loved by so many and will be greatly missed. Rosemary is survived by her biggest advocate, her mother, Rosa Debes, her loving husband, Charles David Fletcher, daughters Jessica Chacon, Aubri Fletcher, Chayna Fletcher & Autumn Fletcher, son, Charlie Fletcher. Her grandbabies Zachary, Robert & Amelia. Her siblings Jackie, Julia & Lydia, her twin Stanley (wife Shonna), many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, friends, and her pets.

She was preceded in death by her father, Stanley Debes, nephew, Samuel Reuter & several other close family members.

Services are entrusted to Sunset Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home 6801 E, I-20 Odessa, Texas 79762 with Rev. Gale Wilson officiating.
