Passed away Peacefully at home surrounded by his loving wife and family.
Preceded in death by his parents, Leonard Allen Powell and Ruth Alice (Coker) Powell; brothers, Richard Powell, John Powell; sisters, Vivian Pfliger Gamble and Sue Crowder.
Survived by wife, Dee Powell of Odessa, TX; sons, Mike Powell (Diana) Odessa, TX, Richie Powell (Linda) Anson, TX; daughter, Charity Powell Carter (Clyde) Odessa, TX; sisters, Lily Shamblin, Roland, OK, Pat Card, Prosper, TX, Toy Browning, Victoria, Minn, Floy Buchmann, Rock Springs, WY, Fay Martin (Bill) Vian, OK; brother, Gene Powell (Barbara) Mountain Grove, MO; grandchildren, Lyric, Creek, Danielle, Monica, Ashley, Kara, Lisa, Rachel, Kyndra, Brandon; great grandchildren, 6; great great grandchildren, 2.
Bob was Baptized at an early age. Bob graduated from Muldrow High School, Muldrow, Oklahoma in 1955. After graduation he joined the US Airforce in 1955 and served his country until 1964. Bob continued to serve his community for 27 years working with the United States Postal Service, retiring in 1992, where he earned his nickname, Tiger.
Bob married the love of his life on May 25, 1983. Happily married for 42 years.
Bob had a passion and love for golf. Bob was a proud member of several golf associations. He made 2 hole-in-ones in 1995 and 1998 and was affectionately known by his friends as “Birdie Bob,” He cherished time on the course with his children, especially playing in annual tournaments with his son, his absolute favorite tradition. He later continued that bond through golf with his son-in-law. He also supported his daughters high school career. Bob also bowled in a league for about 10 years. Bob will be greatly missed. He was known for being kind, loving, gentle and a funny man. He had a very deep love for his family.
