Ricky Wayne Hinton, 54, loving father and friend, passed away on May 25, 2026, in Odessa, Texas.
The viewing will be 6-8pm, on June 2nd at Sunset Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Odessa.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM on Wednesday June 3rd, at Stonegate Odessa Church, officiated by Randy Unruh of Stonegate Odessa. The Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial. Arrangements are by Sunset Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.
Ricky was born in Odessa, Texas to Clyde and Phyllis Hinton on July 6, 1971. He was a proud alumni of Odessa High School, were he earned the reputation of protecting what he loved and being the life of the party. Throughout his life, Ricky enjoyed a plethora of hobbies including; fishing, hunting, golfing, hacky sacking, pool and many others. His competitive spirit drove him to excel at every hobby he pursued. Ricky was known for his generous heart and selfless nature, always willing to help others and often giving the shirt off his back to anyone in need. Ricky was a family man and found pleasure in talking about his kids and grandkids. He shared a special bond with his son Chase, serving not only as a father but also as a trusted mentor whose wisdom and guidance helped shape the man his son is today. Ricky and his daughter Caitlin loved to pick on each other, exchanging jokes and playful jabs that brought laughter to those around them. Their bond was unique, and their love for one another was unmistakable. Ricky and Calli were remarkably alike, sharing many of the same qualities, strengths, and stubborn determination. Though he was her father, he often found comfort in her words, leaning on her for encouragement and understanding during life’s challenges. He was previously married to Zorina Hinton, the mother of his children. He married Sunny Hinton on September 9, 2015 in Brownwood, Tx. He worked in the Oil and Gas industry and was the former owner of Hammerhead Oilfield Rentals. He was heavily involved in the AA Program and enjoyed hosting meetings as well as helping others by sharing his life experiences.
Ricky Hinton is preceded in death by his mother Phyllis Hinton, his father Clyde Hinton, and brother Dale Hinton.
Ricky Hinton is survived by his son Chase Hinton and his wife Amanda Hinton, Caitlin Ruvalcaba and her spouse Erik Ruvalcaba, Calli Gonzales and her husband David Gonzales, his siblings Vicki Wells, Carrie Shaver, grandchildren Zoie Hinton, Emma Hinton, Kaynen Hinton, Hadley Hinton, Sophia Gonzales, Eliana Ruvalcaba, and Kallen Hinton.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Montoya, Barry Scarborough, Blake Ruiz, Chad Johnson, George Capri and Jubel Scarborough.
The family of Ricky Hinton wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all who have called, checked in, provided meals, sent prayers, and kept the family in their thoughts. Your love, support, and kindness have meant more to us than words can express during this time. Thank you for standing beside us and honoring our father’s memory.
