Pete Dwain Wantiez, at the age of 70 yrs of age from Odessa, Texas passed away on November 27, 2025, in Midland, Texas. He was surrounded by family and loved ones.
Visitation will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa, Texas from 6pm to 8pm on Thursday December 4, 2025. Services will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa, Tx on December 5, 2025, at 10:00 am.
Pete Dwain Waniez was born in Okmulgee, Ok on June 4, 1955, to Oscar Wantiez III and Jesse Bell Christenberry Wantiez. Pete went to school in Okmulgee, OK
and then onto Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Ok. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering in 1977.
He grew up going to United Pentecostal church in Okmulgee, OK where he was baptized by the Holy Spirit in May of 1976. He worked at Arco Oil and Gas and was the youngest superintendent that ARCO ever had at the age of 21. When he left ARCO he bought Basin Well Service, after the sale of Basin Well Service. He started BW Industries with his son Pete Wantiez, and he went on to start Rybree Services with his son and brother Oscar Wantiez.
Pete Dwain Wantiez is preceded in death by his parents Oscar Wantiez III and his mother Jesse Bell Wantiez.
Pete is survived by his son Pete Ryan Wantiez and his daughter Chrystal Renea Wantiez of Midland, TX, He has 4 grandchildren Ryan Wantiez, Aubree Wantiez, Paton Carpenter and Chloe York. He also leaves behind two brothers Oscar Dale Wantiez and wife Terri of Tulsa, Ok and Jimmy Wantiez of Okmulgee, Ok.
Memorials may be sent to United Pentecostal Church in Okmulgee, OK.
