Oscar Joe Linman, 94, of Odessa, passed away on December 18, 2025, in Sherman, TX.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home.

Oscar J. Linman, who commonly went by “Joe,” was born in San Angelo, TX to Oscar and Rhoda Linman on May 6, 1931. The family soon moved to Roswell, NM, where Joe received most of his education. He married Vera May Jeffrey on July 11, 1959, in Austin, TX. He attended the University of New Mexico, although he did not complete a degree. He worked as a chemist for Rexene Corporation for 48 years, through a number of company buyouts and name changes. He served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents, his two brothers (Andrew and Leland) and his beloved wife, Vera.

Joe is survived by his only son, Andrew Nicholas Linman, his daughter-in-law, Vijayalakshmi Linman, and his adopted grandson, Nicholas Linman.

Memorials may be given to the West Texas Boys’ Ranch.
