Nola Damon, 68, beloved Mother, Daughter, Sister, Grandmother, Mother-in-law, and Aunt, was called to her eternal resting place on February 12, 2026. She entered this world on May 27, 1957, in San Antonio, Texas, born to Vincent and Martha Damon.
Nola lived a life defined by compassion, joy, and deep devotion to her family - especially her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. After retiring, she lovingly embraced her favorite role, proudly calling herself a "professional grandma." She treasured every trip, activity, and shared moment with Aubry and Damon, celebrating their accomplishments, guiding them through Scouts, and filling their lives with encouragement, laughter, and unconditional love.
She is survived by her daughter Kathleen Harty; her brother Rod Sikora; her brother Kap Sikora; her granddaughter Aubry Harty; her grandson Damon Harty; her son-in-law Matthew Harty; her sisters-in-law Rosie Sikora and Kayla Sikora; and her nephews Vincent Sikora and Drew Sikora. She leaves behind countless extended family members, friends, colleagues, and former patients whose lives were touched by her kindness and care.
A graduate of Lake Highlands High School, Class of 1975, Nola was a member of the swim team before continuing her education at Texas Woman's University, where she earned her nursing degree in 1980. She went on to build a remarkable career in nursing, spending approximately 25 years in the emergency room in Alpine and later serving patients in the Pierce Family Practice, the Family Practice of Midland, and ultimately Salcido Family Practice, where she retired in 2020. Through her work, she saved countless lives and comforted many more, carrying her dedication to helping others into every part of her life.
Beyond her profession, Nola embraced life with enthusiasm and heart. She served as a Girl Scout Troop Leader in Fort Davis until her daughter earned her Gold Award, enjoyed needlepoint, participated faithfully in Bible study, and was a devoted servant of The Bridge, where she found great joy helping babysit and care for the children there. She also loved caring for the two puppies she rescued, Mojo and Diva. Choosing to live in Odessa to remain close to her daughter and grandchildren reflected her unwavering commitment to family and connection.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at The Bridge.
Nola will be remembered for her generous spirit, her strength, her humor, and her endless capacity to love. Her legacy lives on in the family she cherished, the lives she saved, and the grandchildren she adored beyond measure
