Nathan Dale Gray, 78, of Odessa, gained his ultimate healing on Saturday, April 12, 2025, while surrounded by his family.
Nathan lived a life devoted to service. His first and foremost priority was serving God, and as a 70-year member of the First United Pentecostal Church of Odessa, it was evident that he had his priorities in the right place. Nathan also answered the call to serve his country during the Vietnam War as a proud member of the United States Army, assigned to the 611th Ordnance Company. His selfless sacrifice helped pave the way for the freedoms we enjoy today.
Nathan was born to Moore and Dora Gray on July, 4 1946. Nathan is preceded in death by his father, Moore Gray; mother, Dora Gray; brother, Dwayne Gray; and son, Timothy Gray.
Those of us that are left to celebrate memories of Nathan’s life are his wife of over 58 years, Marilyn Elaine Gray; two children, Shawn Gray and wife Lajuana, Shelbi Hood and husband Jerry; sister, Naomi Bunch and husband Larry; and forever daughter-in-law, Mauretta Jones; seven grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Gailen and wife Laken, Kristyn, Karley and husband Juan, Jaiden, Alexis, and Leo; one great grandchild, Sebastian; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
To my loving husband and dad. We will forever store the memories in our hearts of the time God has allowed you to spend with us. Thank you for being a Godly anchor that has taught us more than anything that a relationship with God must be of upmost priority in one’s life and home. Heaven has truly gained an Angel. What a Blessing it is to know that you are no longer suffering and now WALKING and SHOUTING on Streets of Gold! We will forever Love and Miss You!
"Please don’t cry for me, because this is the day that the Lord has made— the very day that I have lived for my entire life!"
