Mary Thomason, a cherished pillar of love and strength within her family and community, passed away at the age of 88 on February 29, 2024. Born on September 30, 1935, in Bowie County, TX, to Thomas and Clara Orr.  She married R. B. Thomason November 17, 1953, in Lovington, New Mexico.

Mary's life was a testament to the power of unconditional love, resilience, and the joy found in life's simple moments.

A devout member of Trinity Baptist Church, Mary's faith in God was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and inspiring those around her. Her commitment to her faith was evident in her role as a deacon’s wife, where she served with grace and dedication, touching the lives of many within her church community.

Mary was not only a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother but also a talented seamstress and homemaker. Her hands, always busy with love and care, created warmth and beauty in her home and in the lives of her loved ones. Mary also channeled her entrepreneurial spirit and nurturing nature by working in childcare service where she touched the hearts and minds of children and their families.

Her legacy is carried on through her loving daughter Kathie Jones and daughter Yvonne McKee  and husband Richard McKee; her adoring grandchildren, Chris and wife Tracy McKee and Brian and wife Amy Ward, great grandchildren; Kimberly McKee Clements and husband, Zachary Clements, Tyler and Aaron McKee, Sean and wife Chyann Ward, Seth Ward, step grandchildren; Courtney Foust, Elise, Levi and Benjamin Parrott; great-great grandchildren; Daredeth and Remington Ward and Ranee Watson; sisters-in law; Bernice Mills, Geneva Eubank and Donna Ward and numerous nieces and nephews.  Each family member felt the love and warmth of her guidance.

Mary’s journey on earth has ended, but her spirit, teachings, and love live on within us. As we gather to honor her memory, let us remember the joy she brought into our lives and the lessons she imparted. Mary's legacy is not just in the memories we cherish but in the love, we continue to share, inspired by her example.
