Mark Douglas House, 61, of Odessa, Texas, passed away on October 31, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of faith, dedication, and love that touched countless lives.
Born on December 10, 1963, in Snyder, Texas, Mark was the son of Patsy House and the late Milton House. From an early age, he demonstrated a natural ability for mechanics and problem-solving skills that would define his professional life and personal passions.
Mark dedicated 28 years of his career to the pumping unit industry, working with Lufkin and Weatherford. His deep understanding of mechanical systems and his analytical mind made him a valued asset in the field. In his later years, he brought those same talents to Ruger Properties as a pumper, where he continued to apply his expertise with diligence and pride.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Mark was known for his unwavering faith and service to others. For over 30 years, he was a devoted member of Bible Centered Fellowship. There he served as a youth leader and trustee but most importantly as a humble servant. A one God believer who lived in obedience to the plan of salvation found in Acts 2:38, Mark was baptized in Jesus' Name and filled with the Holy Ghost. He walked faithfully by the Word of God throughout his life.
Mark’s family was the center of his world. He is lovingly remembered by his wife Sonja House; sons Hayden House and Evan House along with Evan’s wife Azure House; mother Patsy House; sister Terri Shavers and her husband Mike Shavers; brother Don House and his wife Kari House; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends who were blessed by his presence.
A man of many interests and boundless energy, Mark found joy in gardening, working at his mothers farm, tackling handy projects around the house and church, and exploring the Texas Hill Country with his wife Sonja. He had a deep appreciation for old Westerns and cherished time spent at church or with family. Whether enjoying West Texas Mexican food or his love of honey and ice cream, Mark embraced life’s simple pleasures with enthusiasm. He loved kayaking, fishing, jet skiing, fast cars, lifted vehicles and above all else being surrounded by those he loved most. His pets were also dear companions who brought him great comfort.
Those who knew Mark remember him as hard-working, loyal and honest man whose giving spirit was matched only by his sense of humor. Analytical yet joyful; mechanically inclined yet deeply spiritual; friendly yet humble he embodied servant leadership in every aspect of life. A mighty man of valor indeed.
Mark Douglas House was thoroughly loved and will be thoroughly missed by many whose lives were enriched by his presence. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
