Marian "Wanie" Beavers

Marian LeJuana “Wanie” Beavers, 97, of Odessa, Texas, passed away on October 21, 2025 in Odessa, Texas.

Graveside services will be at 11:00AM, Monday, October 27, 2025 at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Reverend Dr. Jimmy Braswell is officiating.

Wanie was born in Ft. Worth, Texas to Egbert Arthur Jones and Sallie Isador Merrell on January 14th, 1928. She graduated from Odessa High School and attended TCU. She married Walter Edwin “Walt” Beavers in 1946 in Odessa, Texas. She worked as a secretary for the Sandhills Stock Show and Rodeo for over 30 years. She was a member of American Legion Post 430 Women’s Auxiliary for over 60 years. Wanie was an avid fisherman, hunter, and bridge player throughout her life.

Wanie is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Walt Beavers, and daughter, Barbara Sharon Beavers.

Wanie is survived by her son, Steve Beavers, daughter in-law, Jane Beavers, grandson, Joseph Beavers and wife Lisa, great grandchildren, Kylie Beavers, Zander Beavers, and Makayla and Kaitlen Ahrlett.
