Maria Del Moral

Maria Elena Del Moral, 72, of Odessa, was called home to be with Our Lord on Saturday, March 5, 2022.

Recitation of the Rosary will be at 5:00 PM, Saturday, March 12, 2022, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, March 14, 2022, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Ector County Cemetery, Los Angeles section. Father Francisco Bonilla will be officiating.

Maria Elena was born in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico on September 16, 1949. She married Francisco Javier Del Moral on February 29, 1972. They recently commemorated their 50th year of marriage.

She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Maria Elena was a devoted mother to her daughters, who were her pride and joy. She cherished her grandchildren who called her Nana and adored her dog, Kasey. Family was always the light of her life. She loved to shop and travel to cities in the United States and Mexico, especially to Las Vegas which was one of her favorite places. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Maria Elena such as taking care of her plants in her garden and having outings with friends.

Maria Elena is preceded in death by her parents, Esther, and Manuel Cruz; brother, Jaime Cruz; and sister, Nora Cruz.

Maria Elena is survived by her husband, Francisco Javier; daughters, Belinda Paredes, Elizabeth Ibarra, Maria Fierro, and Lilia Elena Nieto; sons-in-law, Edmar Paredes, Jesse Ibarra, Gabriel Fierro, and Roberto Nieto; brothers and sisters, Pedro Cruz, Jesus Manuel Cruz, Esiquia Cruz, Rene Cruz, Aracely Gomez, Maricela Cruz, Laura Cruz, and Nivia Cruz; grandchildren, Kristen Bairrington, Edmar Paredes Jr., Eric Paredes, Elijah Paredes, Jessica Garcia, Kimberly Ibarra, Brandon Fierro, Bryttani Craig, Brooke Fierro, Bethani Fierro, Natalia Faith Nieto, and Nathaniel Javier Nieto; great-grandchildren, Nolen Josiah and Ella June Garcia, and Kamila James Bairrington.

Pallbearers will be Edmar Paredes Jr., Eric Paredes, Elijah Paredes, Nathaniel Javier Nieto, Noe Garcia Jr., and Bo Bairrington.
