Malcolm Owens

Malcolm K. Owens, 85 of Pembroke Georgia, passed away on September 24, 2021, in Odessa Texas.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday September 29th, 2021, at Sunset Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home located at 6801 E. Hwy 80 in Odessa, TX with the Reverend Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating.  Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home.

Malcolm was born in Pembroke, Georgia to Estelle and Maggie Owens on December 17, 1935.  He had a happy childhood in Georgia growing up with his 3 brothers and 3 sisters.  Malcolm was a proud member of the United States Marine Corps, serving his country from 1954 to 1957 when he was honorably discharged as a Corporal.  After leaving the Marines, Malcolm made his way to Odessa, where he worked hard to build a multifaceted landscaping service business, touching many lives.  Malcolm was a caring and generous father and friend, whose smile would lighten your heart. He never met a stranger and was kind to all those he met.

Malcolm was preceded in death by his parents Estelle and Maggie Owens, daughter Vicki Franks, brothers Robert Earl Owens, Bobby Owens, sister Cybil Lynn Owens, and his second wife Patricia Owens.

Malcolm is survived by Clara Owens, Sons: Nelson Owens, Kenneth Owens, Robbie Owens, Jeff Owens, Malcolm E. Owens, and Daughters: Donna Owens, Nancy McCracken and Mary Morton.  He is also survived by his brother Andrew Owens and sisters Katherine Blitch and Jo Parker.  Grandchildren: Stephanie Blubaugh, Jamie Owens, Sarah Hebert, Jeff C. Owens, Jeffrey R. Owens, Kevin Goodman, Shane Goodman, Tony Goodman, Charlie Franks, Toby Franks, Melissa Franks, Jennifer Mata, Brody Owens, Ryan Morton, Kristin Morton, Nelson Owens Jr, Nalaniku Williams, Napua Owens, Olivia Owens and Selina Owens. He is also survived by 35 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Robbie Owens, Malcolm E. Owens, Brody Owens, Jamie Owens, Richard Morton, and Johnny Mata.  Honorary pallbearers:  Jeff Owens, Ryan Morton and Nalaniku Williams.
