Kyle Wayne Steward

Kyle Wayne Steward, 35, of Horseshoe Bay, Texas, passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2023, in Odessa, Texas.

Kyle was born in Odessa, Texas, on August 31, 1988.  He graduated from Rockwall High school in 2006, where he played football. He was a creative and skilled machinist, working for various companies, as well as being self-employed. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, and making prickly pear jelly.

Kyle had a big heart, always willing to give a helping hand. Family was important to him.  He especially treasured the time spent with his grandparents, giving them priority in his life. He enjoyed spending time and playing with “Little Blondie,” his cousin Natalie. These two had a special bond.

Graveside services will be held at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park in Burnet, Texas, at 11:30 AM on Saturday, October 14, 2023, with Kyle’s brother, Curtis Thomas, officiating.

Kyle is preceded in death by his grandparents, Wayne Johnson, Maxye Thomas, Raymond Steward and Louise Steward.

Kyle is survived by his parents, Joni & Gary Thomas and Ronnie Steward; his brothers, Scott Steward and wife Misty and family, Ryan Thomas and wife Dondi and family, and Curtis Thomas and wife Cassie and family; aunts and uncles, Dana & Mike Hastings, Ken & Sue Johnson, Mark & Juli Thomas, Sam & Mae Thomas, Gil & Dyann Wythe, Beth & Roland Bustillos, Judy & Mel Wideman, and Karen & Eric Echols. Including numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The pallbearers will be Scott Steward, Ryan Thomas, Ryan Hastings, Kory Johnson, Tyler Johnson, and Eric Wythe. Honorary pallbearers are Samuel Thomas II and Sean Thomas.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Midland Children's Rehabilitation Center in honor of Kyle, on behalf of Natalie.
