Kiesha Rhea
Hughes
Aug 11, 1974 — Aug 29, 2026
Odessa, Texas
Kiesha Nicole Rhea Hughes passed away on August 29, 2026 leaving behind a lifetime of love, laughter, unforgettable memories, and a family who will miss her more than words could ever express.
Kiesha was born August 11, 1974 to Carla Harless and Michael Rhea in San Angelo, Texas. She graduated from Odessa College with her Radiology Degree and was employed at West Texas Imaging for more than 10 years. She married her best friend, Lloyd Hughes, on July 11, 2015.
Kiesha was an understanding mother, a devoted wife, a loving daughter, a stubborn sister, and a cherished friend. But of all the roles she held throughout her life, her absolute favorite was being Yaya to her precious Livi Bug. Being Yaya brought her a happiness unlike anything else. She loved spoiling Livi Bug, making memories with her, and filling her life with fun and adventure. She took so much pride in watching her learn, grow, and experience new things. If there was an opportunity to make something exciting for Livi, Yaya was going to make sure it happened.
She and her husband, Lloyd, could often be found spending time together in their garage playing darts and Golden Tee. Kiesha also loved bowling—and anyone who knew her knew that she was incredibly competitive. Whether she was bowling, playing a game, or taking on a challenge, she definitely wanted to win.
She also had a love for the unusual and adventurous, especially ghost hunting. The more haunted a place was, the more eager Kiesha was to investigate it. Her curiosity and fearless spirit always drew her toward the next mystery waiting to be explored. She was an avid animal lover with a heart that made it nearly impossible for her to turn away an animal in need. After taking in stray cat after stray cat, she lovingly earned her title as the family’s “crazy cat lady.” Kiesha was an avid collector of Ty Beanie Babies and loved searching for everyone’s birthday Beanie Baby—a hobby that perfectly reflected the thoughtful and fun-loving person she was. Kiesha took great pride in her career as an ultrasound technician. She truly loved her job and the people she met through it. She cared about her patients as people, offering them an understanding ear, comfort, conversation, and compassion when they needed it most.
Kiesha had a personality that could never be duplicated. She loved deeply, laughed loudly, cared fiercely, and brought excitement wherever she went. She could be stubborn, competitive, talkative, compassionate, adventurous, and endlessly loving—often all at the same time. Those qualities made her unmistakably Kiesha, and they are exactly what will make her so deeply missed. Her love will live on through her family and through her beloved Livi Bug, who will forever know just how incredibly special she was to her Yaya.
Kiesha is survived by her husband, Lloyd Hughes, children, Karly Rhea, Tyler Hughes and Tinley Hughes, granddaughter Alivia Love, parents Carla and Danny Harless, siblings Bryan Rhea and wife Jammie, Joe Harless, J.W Harless, Nikki Green and husband Dusty, Misti Knight, Cristi Schmidt and husband Don, Kari Knight, grandmother, Donna Murdock and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces.
She is preceded in death by her father, Michael Rhea, Grandparents, Guy and Nell Rhea and Grandfather Bobby Murdock.
