Kenneth “Dusty” Sewell, 68, of Odessa, TX passed from this life on December 30, 2020 in Odessa, TX.
Dusty was born in Monroe, LA to Bob and Ocie Sewell on August 7, 1952. Dusty attended grade school in Kermit, TX before graduating to the school of Hard Knocks. He married Ann Lucas in 1972 and moved to West Odessa, TX where he built a life for his family. He made a living in the oil patches around West Texas where he learned many trades from drilling oil and gas wells to operating big rigs to safety man. Dusty enjoyed fast cars and loved cruising his red corvette. He was quick to make friends because wherever he went good times were soon to follow. A family man above all else, Dusty would attend every ball game, birthday, graduation, or other family function he was physically capable to attend. He loved his family and friends with all his heart and will be missed dearly.
Dusty is preceded in death by his parents Bob and Ocie Sewell, brothers Big Lonnie Sewell, Bobby Sewell, Little Lonnie Sewell, James “Thumper” Sewell, and sister Donna Heathington.
Dusty is survived by wife Ann Lucas, children Jennifer and Brad Hawthorne, Jammie and Bryan Rhea, Dusty and Erika Sewell, Ocie Sewell, Chassity and Ben Baumstimler, and Patrick Sewell, sisters Peggy, Michelle “Pumpkin”, Roberta, brothers James, William, Billy grandkids Bailey, Bryan, Dallas, Brayden, Farrah, Makenzie, Nathan, Jordon, Jaxon, Brennan, Hunter, Jacen, C4, one great granddaughter, Anslee along with numerous family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Brad Hawthorne of White Oak, TX, Bryan Rhea of Athens, TX, Bryan A. Rhea of Athens, TX, Dallas Reeves of White Oak, TX, Brayden Rhea of Athens, TX and Nathan Sewell of Odessa, TX. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Thompson of Granbury, TX and Ray Martinez of Odessa, TX.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at 10:00 am at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home located at 6801 E. Highway 80, Odessa, TX. COVID restrictions are in effect and masks are required.
Arrangements are under the direction of Sunset Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.
