Kayla Jordan

December 25, 1957 — January 23, 2023

Odessa

Kayla Ja'Nice Jordan, age 65, of Odessa, passed from this life and entered her heavenly home on January 23rd 2023.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, February 4th at Sunset Memorial Gardens located at 6801 E. Business Hwy 20 in Odessa, Texas. Arrangements are by Sunset Memorial Gardens & Funeral home.

Kayla was gifted to her parents, Raymond and Fonda Jordan, on Christmas Day 1957 in Odessa. She graduated from Odessa High School in 1976 while working for State National Bank. She excelled at her job working for the bank 15 + years and eventually earning the title of Vice-President.

Kayla loved God and was always trying to telling other about Him especially when she felt that family members were going down the wrong path. She was quick to point out to them their "errant ways" and to pray for them. Kayla was known to hold Bible studies & devotionals in her home for anyone who was interested. She was a true giver of her time and resources. She never met a stranger and was always looking for someone who she could help. She sought out those who society looked down on and often bringing them into her home in hopes of leading them to Christ or just helping them get on their feet. Kayla didn't care if they were human or animal — she wanted to help them all.

Though Kayla loved children she was not blessed with her own but when her nieces and nephew were younger, she doted upon then and often allowed them to do the things their parents wouldn't allow. In her earlier years, she enjoyed outdoor activities including caving, water skiing, playing baseball and camping. She loved playing practical jokes on family and friends especially her siblings. The one thing she hated was the "Chucky" doll and her brothers took every opportunity to torment her with it.

In her later years, Kayla continued to reach out to the helpless and misfortunate despite her own physical and mental struggles. The family is grateful for the opportunity to have shared Thanksgiving dinner with her as she seemed to be more like her old self.

Kayla is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond & Fonda Jordan along with her sister, Karen Robbins.

She is survived by her brothers, Ronny Jordan & wife Jana, Todd Jordan & wife

Cindy, her brother-in-law, Wayne Robbins and numerous nieces and nephews.
