Katalina Almanza of Odessa, Texas passed away on May 25, 2025, in Richardson, Texas.

Her rosary will be Monday June 2, 2025, at 7:00 PM. Visitation will be from 12-8:00PM on Monday. Funeral Service will be Tuesday June 3, 2025, at 3:00 PM in the Chapel at Sunset Funeral Home. Deacon Mike Hernandez at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Midland, Texas, will be officiating. Arrangements are by Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home.

Katalina was born in Oceanside, California to the proud parents Ruben Sanchez Hernandez Jr. and Emealda Alvarez Hernandez on March 17, 1996. She attended Permian High School. She married Tiburcio Carlos Almanza on October 22, 2022, in Odessa, Texas. She worked in retail. When she became pregnant, she had the honor to stay home and take care of herself and be a stay-at-home mommy.

Katalina is preceeded in death by her great grandparents, Andres S. Hernandez Sr., Carmen F. Hernandez, Rosale M. Hernandez, Jospehine S. Hernandez, Gregorio Lopez Sr., Maria S. Lopez. Lorenzo Alvarez, Paula G. Alavarez and her two favorite grandfathers Ruben F. Hernandez and David G. Alvarez.

Katalina is survived by her soulmate, husband, Tiburcio Carlos Almanza and her beautiful baby girl, Octavia Lilith Almanza; by her father, Ruben Sanchez Hernandez Jr. and mother, Emealda Alvarez Hernandez; her older brother, Sebastion Hernandez and younger brother, Alexander Hernandez and his wife, Audrie Hernandez; she had three nephews and one niece, Josiah Hernandez, Emily Hernandez, Ezra Hernandez and Benjamin Hernandez; her two grandmothers, Catherine Alvarez and Joann Hernandez; her aunts and uncles, Tio David and Tia Sophia Alvarez, Tio Benny and Tia Monica Hernandez, Tia Connie Salinas, Tio Bobby and Tia Maggie Hernandez, Tia Sandra and Tio Ruben Olgin, and her BIG GIANT NINO Mike Hernandez and Tia Dee Ann Hernandez, Tia Isabel and her husband Nick; her in laws, Joe and Maria Price, and all her loving cousins.

Katalina was an amazing wife, mother, daughter and sister. She always put family first. She will forever be extremely missed. Kat was one in a million, there is no one out there like her. A diamond in the rough, shining so bright, bringing light to people in their darkness.
