June Marie Freeman

June Marie Freeman, 79, of Odessa, passed away on June 26, 2024 in Odessa, Ector County, Texas. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 28th at 2:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home with Jimmy Braswell officiating. 

June Marie Freeman was born in Sweetwater to George Roma Burns and Dorothy Faye Clardy Burns on June 24, 1945. She married Lee Wallace Freeman, Jr. on August 15, 1963 in Odessa, Texas. She was a quiet person, yet witty. She worked several jobs throughout her life, but the job she preferred was being at home for her kids. She had many talents and hobbies, such as softball and bowling. Her passion was sewing. She was a volunteer at the Interfaith Sewing Center in Odessa helping others learn to sew. She also used her skills making preemie baby clothing for stillborn, miscarriage and short-term births. 

June Marie Freeman is preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Faye Clardy Moore, her father, George Roma Burns, and her brother, Donald Ray Burns.

June is survived by her husband, Lee Wallace Freeman, Jr., her children, Katie Lyn Leddon (Brian), and son, Russell Lynn Freeman, brother, John Roy Burns (Jo), granddaughter, Stephanie Dian Jones (Chris), and great-grandchildren, Tobias, Bryce, and Hannah.
