He was born January 11, 1931 in Throckmorton, Texas to George Fischer and Dimple Kilman Fischer.
He married Zola Mae in Clovis, New Mexico on July 16, 1956. She preceded him in death in 2003.
He is survived by a son, Sterling Joseph Fischer of Odessa.
