Joe Alex Luna

Joe Alex Luna, 61, of Odessa TX passed away on October 13, 2025 at Baylor Scott & White All Saints Hospital in Fort Worth, TX surrounded by his family. 

Rosary will be held on Thursday October 23, 2025 at 7:00 pm. Funeral mass will be held on October 24, 2025 at 11:00 am with Interment immediately following at St Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church 7601 N Grandview, Odessa, TX 79765. 

Joe Alex was born on June 16, 1964 in Alpine TX to Alejandro and Josie Luna. He graduated from Marfa High School in 1983. He married the love of his life, Gloria (Navarrette) Luna on June 8, 1991 in Odessa, TX. He started his career as a Jailer in Marfa, Police Officer in Fort Stockton, Border Patrol Officer in Midland, a Firearms Instructor, and was an ICE Agent Supervisor in Midland until his retirement in 2019. He was the Commander of the ICE Honor Guard and traveled several times to Washington, DC to compete during Police week. 

Joe Alex was a God Fearing Man with deep faith. During his life he mentored so many with their spirituality journey. His Patron Saint was St Michael and he had a deep devotion to our Blessed Mother Mary. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Knights on Bikes, and an ACTS brother. He was always the first one to help others. He cherished his family and left an everlasting impression with everyone he met. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alejandro and Josie Luna, brother, Oscar Luna and grandmother Josefina Williams 

Joe Alex is survived by his wife Gloria Luna, mother in law Victoria Navarrette, his children, Zachary Luna, Nathan Luna, Jason (Sarah) Luna, and Justin (Ana) Luna. Grandchildren, Amzie, Xandra, Xavier, Kayla, Kacey, his brother, Jamie Luna, and numerous family and friends.
