Jimmy Lemarr

October 9, 1956 — May 1, 2023

Odessa

October 9, 1956 – May 1, 2023

Jim LeMarr was born to L. William and Ruby M (Shank) Lemarr on October 9, 1956, in Tulsa, OK. After several years of struggling with heart problems, Jim left this life on May 1, 2023. Jim grew up in Sperry, OK. He attended the University of Tulsa, graduating in 1979 with a degree as a Mechanical Engineer. He began his career at Texaco West Tulsa Plant.  Shortly after marrying Irene Wilson on May 2, 1981, he left Texaco and for the next few years he had the opportunity to work in Oklahoma, North Dakota, New Jersey, Delaware, Ohio, Tennessee, and several places in Texas. After 16 years of working at Saulsbury Industries, Jim retired on March 31, 2023. The last few years he served as Senior Vice President of Engineering. Jim always had an excellent working reputation.

The Lord was important to him. He was known as a man with a very strong Christian faith at work, at church, and in life. He loved to sing songs of worship and praise. In his younger years he served as a Bus Captain on a Joy Bus and Bible class teacher. As his faith grew and he matured, he continued to teach Bible classes, Vacation Bible School, Small Group teacher, and occasional Pulpit Preacher everywhere he and Irene lived.

Jim enjoyed music, especially Jazz and Big Band. He was a Ham Radio Operator (W5NBC) holding an Extra Class License. Jim and Irene loved to travel and see new places. He was four states shy of seeing all fifty states, travelled all of Route 66, and visited several places he enjoyed watching on YouTube. They made many friends in various places they lived and enjoyed visiting them with plans to travel more in retirement.

As much as he enjoyed traveling, he loved his family even more. Irene was the love of his life and he always made sure she knew she was loved. She felt the same way. They were able to help Irene’s niece, Jennifer, in special ways over the years and became the Grandpa Jim and Granny to her two daughters, Korina and Emma Esparza.

Left behind to share memories of Jim are his wife, Irene; and grandgirl, Korina, of the home, Emma Esparza, of Midland; special niece and family, Debbie and Don Garrison of Sperry, OK; sister and family, Bonnie and Vernon Beaty of Owasso, OK; brother-in-law, Kellis Brown of Sperry, OK; “brother”, Steve and Pam Henderson of Shawnee, OK; niece, Rebekah Harrison of Odessa, TX; great niece and husband, Bryanna and Davone Boyce of Odessa, TX; nephew and family, Fred and Shawna Harrison of Farmington, NM; and special in-laws, Clyde Wilson of Karnak, TX, Jerry Wilson of Enid, OK, Sue and Ed Morris of San Tan Valley, AZ, and Linda and Terry Benoit of Quincy, CA. Many nieces and newphews and so many more.

Those that have passed away before Jim are his parents, L William and Ruby Lemarr; brother, Bobbie Lemarr; sister, Dorothy Brown; Irene’s parents, Fred and Becky Calfee, Sil Ida Wright, Bil Tom Wilson; niece, Jennifer Harrison; and many others.
