Jimmy Woodall Darden was born on September 3rd, 1954 to Elizabeth and T.D. Tillman. He was adopted by his Aunt Rita Darden, and his name was changed when he was in the 3rd grade.
He entered the gates of Heaven on December 21, 2025, into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Jimmy was a lifelong Odessan, attended Odessa High School and graduated from the State of Alaska after joining the United States Air Force, serving at Elmendorf AFB Alaska from 1972 to 1974. After being Honorably discharged he met the love of his life, Brenda Jo Moon and they wed May 28, 1977. They had 47 years of love and laughter and loved to travel and maybe put a few dollars in the slot machines.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Aunt Rita and his son Christopher Scott Darden and his wife Brenda Darden.
In his early childhood he developed a love for baseball that carried him throughout his life. He was a little league umpire and called the World Series tournaments twice. He truly loved umpiring and mentoring so many during his 53 years calling the game. He loved watching kids meet their goals.
He retired from Konica Minolta Business Solutions after 40 years.
He leaves behind his very dear friends Vance and Jamie Gillem, Gerardo and Debbie Jimenez, Betty Wilhite, Jamie Hennessey and his two nieces, Connie Jo Campos (Danny, Dharma Jo, and Cobey) and Judy Patterson (Chance, Jaycee) and numerous second-generation nieces and nephews. Also preceded in death were Tracie Patterson and Jon Campos.
Jimmy also loved planting a beautiful garden with a pond in it for his beautiful wife and friends to enjoy.
He will be greatly missed not only by friends and family but by the Little League Nation.
Just remember he is still watching the game.
